How we verify

Sourcing directories are usually pay-to-play listings dressed as research. This one is built the other way round: every published fact carries a source, and anything we could not confirm is left blank instead of filled in.

Three tiers

Listed: Found in a public registry or certification database, deduped, with basic details. Never shown publicly. This is our internal working pool — publishing it would mean publishing companies we have not checked.
Confirmed: The company is operating, its site is live, and its core capabilities are confirmed from at least two independent sources.
Verified: Everything in Confirmed, plus either a direct email or phone conversation that confirmed minimum order quantity and lead time, or certification evidence on file from the issuing body — within the last 12 months.

A source for every fact

Each structured fact — MOQ, lead time, a certification — is stored with a row recording where it came from: a URL, or a logged record of a call or email. If a fact has no source, the field stays empty. A blank MOQ means we do not know it, and that is more useful to you than a plausible number we invented.

Linkable sources are published in the footnotes of each profile. Facts confirmed by phone show as a verification date rather than a link, because there is nothing honest to link to.

Freshness

Verification decays. A Verified record carries the month it was verified, and after 12 months it automatically drops back to Confirmed until someone re-checks it. This happens in the database itself rather than in a scheduled job, so a stale record cannot be shown with a fresh badge even if a job fails to run.

Where candidates come from

We use public registries and certification databases — FDA establishment registrations, NSF, USP, Informed Sport — to find candidate names. Competitor directories are only ever used as lists of names; we never copy their content, and every fact is re-confirmed from a primary source: the company's own site, the certifying body, or the company directly.

What this is not

Verification is not an endorsement, an audit, or a guarantee of quality, capacity, or current pricing. It means we checked specific facts against specific sources on a specific date, and you can see which. Confirm current terms with the manufacturer before you commit to anything.

No manufacturer can pay for a listing, a tier, or placement.
